What is in the building

Everything below is equipment Arsenal runs, and the reason each piece is here is that it turns a coaching opinion into a measurement.

HitTrax

Measures exit velocity, launch angle and projected distance on every batted ball, and plots where each one would have landed on a real field.

TrackMan

Tracks pitch velocity, spin rate, spin axis, movement and release on every pitch.

Blast Motion

A bat sensor that reports bat speed, rotational acceleration, attack angle and time to contact for each swing.

Onform

The video app where an athlete’s lessons, drills and side-by-side comparisons live, so work continues between sessions.

Swing AI

Automated swing analysis used alongside coach review.

Video analysis

High-frame-rate capture reviewed frame by frame with the athlete during the session.

Junior Hack Attack pitching machines

Three-wheel machines for both baseball and softball, throwing live-arm-angle fastballs and breaking pitches.

Medicine balls and tidal tanks

Weighted balls and water-filled bags used for rotational power and anti-rotation core work.

Questions

What ages do you train?

Arsenal Performance Training works with athletes from age six through the professional level. Founder Ricardo Lizcano has spent over a decade coaching that full range, and has completed more than 10,000 lessons in person and online. Instruction is built around the individual athlete rather than an age bracket, so a nine-year-old and a college pitcher are not given the same session.

Do you train girls?

Yes. Arsenal Performance Training trains girls in fastpitch softball as well as in strength and sports performance. Founder Ricardo Lizcano coaches softball at Plant High School and works with Tampa Mustangs teams across the Tampa Bay area. Arsenal fastpitch athletes also appeared in a Franklin Sports photo shoot filmed at the facility, which is on the site.

Who are the coaches at Arsenal, and what did they play?

Arsenal Performance Training has fifteen coaches. Brian Tollberg pitched parts of four seasons for the San Diego Padres. Joe Martinez played shortstop in the Detroit Tigers organization. Ricardo Lizcano signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and has taught more than 10,000 lessons. Michael Butler came from Minor League Baseball, USF and Florida State strength staffs.
